Will GTA 6 Be on PC? Everything We Know About the PC Release

The question every PC gamer asks: will GTA 6 be available on PC? The short answer is almost certainly yes — but not at the same time as consoles. Rockstar Games has a consistent history of releasing their major titles on consoles first, followed by a PC port 12-18 months later.

Rockstar’s Console-First History

GTA 5 launched on PS3/Xbox 360 in September 2013. The PC version didn’t arrive until January 2015 — a 16-month gap. Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a similar pattern: October 2018 console launch, November 2019 PC release (13 months). This staggered approach is deliberate, not accidental.

Why the Delay?

The console-first strategy serves two business purposes: it maximizes double-dip sales (players buy it on console at launch, then again on PC), and it gives the PC team time to optimize for the wide range of hardware configurations. The GTA 5 PC port was excellent quality, and Rockstar will want to maintain that standard.

Expected PC Release Timeline

With a Fall 2025 console launch, applying Rockstar’s 12-18 month pattern suggests a PC release between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Rockstar has not confirmed or denied any PC plans. We’ll update this page the moment any official announcement is made.
